Switching To Mac Part IIIb

Well, it appears as though the random shutdown problem on Macbooks is not an isolated issue. I called Apple and they said they would overnight me a box (which arrived on time) and that if I send it out the same day (which was yesterday, Friday) that I would receive the notebook back by late next week.

So far they have made good on their promises, and the box they sent was especially surprising to me. It was the perfect size, included perfectly selected packing materials, and excellent instructions on how to pack my notebook and ship it out. In fact after I finished packing the notebook all I had to do was peel off the top layer of the original shipping label, exposing their readied label underneath, and drop it off at my local shipping store. I’ve never dealt with a large manufacturer for issues like this, so perhaps it’s normal and I’m just not used to it.

This post is a bit useless without pics, so below are some images of the packing materials as they arrived to me, the glossy packing instructions, and my Macbook about to be shipped out. I am very pleased thus far with their customer service.

Kudos to Apple for their customer service, it’s better than I have received from other companies in the past. Usually they just tell me to ship back the notebook in the original packaging, which I must pay for. Once again, Apple makes it easy.
