I have created this category so that I can post numerous things I have worked on/am working on that are math-related (which is almost everything in my life right now). More to come when I have time to post all of it.

Cheap cigars

Well, I just tried what I would consider to be my first “daily cigar” (National Brand) and I have to admit it wasn’t that bad. Typically I have to pay around $8 for my favorite cigars but these are only about $1.80 (at a retail store) which is obviously much more economical. I think for the price difference, the decrease in quality is tolerable because it wasn’t all that great. I’ll smoke these from now on not only because I will save money (not that I ever smoked cigars that often anyway) but because I can afford to smoke more often. I can buy a bundle of 25 of these cigars for the price of 5 of the previous ones.

Just something I thought I would mention for the cigar lovers out there.

I’m tired

Well, I only slept from 430am-630am last night because I was up late studying for an exam in my differential equations class (which went terribly) and writing some code for my graph research project (which is going well). I also haven’t really been posting lately due to all the goings on (I’m also installing a new phone system at the office).

Not much has happened that I feel is worth commenting out. In a stunningly characteristic move, president Bush nominated his crony Harriet Miers to fill the vacancy in the Supreme Court, nothing new there. I don’t know much about her because there doesn’t seem to be much on paper but I would have been happier if he had nominated someone with a record. Basically, I want the new product with the warranty, not the open-box item that you aren’t allowed to inspect or return. It’s the Supreme Court, all sales are final.

There are still theme problems floating around. I viewed the site today on Internet Explorer from the school to see how it looked and the sidebar was actually down below all the posts (if you’re reading this on IE, it’s not supposed to be that way). It could have been attributed to the resolution of the computer I was on but I didn’t have time to tinker with it. I like the really simple black and white theme, but even I will admit that sometimes efficiency must be trumped by vanity. After all, the content of the site is irrelevant if people can’t stand to look at it.

Tomorrow is a fairly light day, I only have a few things to finish up at work and I do have school assignments (including one take-home exam) that I need to complete but other than that I’m not busy. I may actually have time to post tomorrow, we’ll see.
